How Due Dates are Calculated
In this article we will cover how Ship Dates set the due date on invoices.
When you send out an invoice through RoasterTools, the due date is automatically calculated based on the payment terms you’ve set for your customer and the orders stated Ship Date.
How Ship Date is Set
Ship date is set from your default Offset Shipping Day settings found in:
name > settings > delivery > delivery offset
Typcially these are Same Day, + 1 day, +2 days, or +3 days. Orders will automatically assign a Ship date according to your Offset Shipping day.
Key Points:
- For orders with Terms of Due on Receipt - the Due Date will EQUAL the Ship Date
- The ship date on the invoice does not change when you mark the order as shipped. If you want the ship date changed you need to update it on the order.
- Orders will move into the “Payment Due Today" section of the orders page on their terms Due Date.
Updating Ship Dates
If you need to update the ship date to reflect the accurate Due Date, below are the steps to do so.
If the ship date on the order is not accurate, you can update it by
opening the order > edit Order > change ship date > Update order
You can also do a batch update of shipping date on the orders page
Select orders > Batch Action > Update Ship date
