Insights: Tax Reports

Tax Reports are for users who are using RoasterPay and our Tax feature to calculate taxes on Wholesale orders.

If you're interested in using this feature, reach out to support@roasertools.com to enable tax setup on your account.

The Tax Reports are a comprehensive list of all orders and the amount of tax collected on each.  You can download the general Tax Report or have the data sorted by state in the State Tax Report is the same but you can choose by state. Choose from preset date ranges (like Last Quarter or Last Year) or set a custom range. Once generated, the report is delivered straight to your email with a download link.


Where to Find Tax Reports

You'll find the Tax Reports under the Insights tab.

Tax Report:

  • A comprehensive list of all sales data for a time period, listed by Order
  • Choose from preset date ranges (like Last Quarter or Last Year) or set a custom range.
  • Each order lists how much tax is collected on the order in total as well as by State, County, City, District
  • Once generated, the report is delivered straight to your email with a download link.

State Tax Report:

  • This report is the same as the Tax report except you can pull data per state
  • Easily to pull the sales data you need for state tax filings.
  • This report lets you search by any U.S. state and choose from preset date ranges (like Last Quarter or Last Year) or set a custom range.
  • Once generated, the report is delivered straight to your email with a download link.

How to Run a Report

Running a report takes just a few clicks:

  1. Go to InsightsState Tax Reports
  2. For State Report - Start typing a U.S. state name in the search box and select it from the dropdown
  3. Choose a date range from the preset options:
    • Last Quarter
    • Last Year
    • Custom (more on this below)
  4. Click Generate Report
  5. Check your email! You'll receive a message with a download link for your report

Using Custom Date Ranges

Need a specific date range? No problem. Select Custom from the dropdown and enter your start and end dates.

Handy time-saver: When you select Custom, the date fields will pre-fill with your last selected dates. If you're running the same report regularly (hello, quarterly filings!), this saves you from re-entering the same info every time.

Please Note: Reports are limited to a maximum of 1 year of data at a time.
